When you run ethernet and wifi simultaneously, the device has two IPs, one for each. When I have time, I'll restart with both and then with only wifi to see what happens.
This behavior began when I turned off wifi. However, when I start my Mac, even though System Preferences/Network shows that my Ethernet connection is fine, it takes a few minutes before a browser can connect to a web page. I tried turning off wifi, and the problem seems to have disappeared. However, it started running slowly at other times, too. This only occurred after upgrading to Catalina. Recently, it started running slowly in the afternoon, which I thought was a heating problem. I have both ethernet and wifi connections in my MacBook Pro.
